Diamond

Diamonds is an allotrope of carbon and the hardest known substance on earth. Most of its properties are due to the diamonds atoms, arranges in the formation of a 'face-centered' cubic structure, with the help of covalent bonds.
Diamond has a high optical dispersion that gives it its 'luster.' Due to a rigid structure, only minute impurities are present, yet these give diamond crystals a specific color, such as blue, green or yellow. This increases their value. Diamonds are naturally formed in the depths of earth, in the presence of high temperature and pressure. It can also be formed synthetically through 'Chemical Vapor Deposition' (CVD).
In market, diamond has its own value. It has been in demand throughout its history and is sold freely or as a decoration in jewelry articles. Diamonds is valued in market, on four bases; carat, cut, color and clarity. These are collectively known as the 4 Cs. Gemological Institute of America is the most respected institute on gemstones and diamonds, throughout the world. All of the grading and certification, on diamonds, is done by this company.
